Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent interlayer separation or destruction of a fiber reinforced plastic leaf spring by using a stopper for restricting flexure of a shock absorber such as an automobile bumper or so which is made up of the leaf springs. CONSTITUTION:A shock absorber D is built up from a pair of leaf springs 2 in the form of a U-shape, a composite of glass fiber and epoxide resin or so, and bolted to a bumper stay 1 and a bumper 3. An elastic stopper 4 such as rubber or so which strikes the bumper 3 to restrict flexture of the shock absorber D is secured to the end of the bumper stay 1. An excessive flexture of the shock absorber D will not be produced excessively, so that interlayer separation, destruction or so of the leaf spring 2 may be prevented.
