Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a high-tensile clad steel plate having excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance by a method in which a proper thickness of a soft steel is cladded on the surface of a low-carbon alloy steel slab of a regulated composition by casting method or padding method, hot-rolled, and then heat- treated. CONSTITUTION:An alloy steel slab as a mother steel material, containing 0.07- 0.15wt% C, <=0.50wt% Si, 0.90-1.70wt% Mn, and 0.10-0.50wt% Mo as basic components, together with, as needed, one or more of 0.01-0.10wt% V, 0.10- 1.00wt% Cr, 0.01-0.10wt% Nb, and 0.001-0.030wt% Ti, besides Fe and inevitable impurities, is cladded with a thickness of 0.5-2.0mm. of a soft steel containing <=0.10wt% C and <=0.50wt% Mn, besides Fe and inevitable impurites, by casting method or padding method. Then, the clad steel plate thus obtained is hot-rolled by an usual method, hardened, and then tempered to manufacture a high-tensile clad steel having a high tensile strength of 50kgf/mm.<2> or more and excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance.
