Abstract
PURPOSE:To give the initialization to the control area of an input/output controller and to all input/output devices under the control of the above-mentioned controller, by carrying out the microinstruction in a diagnosis buffer after execution of an input/output instruction. CONSTITUTION:An optional input/output controller IOC plus an input/output device IOD7 in a system in which plural IOCs 1 are connected to a channel 5 via an input/output interface 2 are initialized by a reset controlling system. In this case, an optional input/output controller 1 is selected by an input/output instruction, and both the reset parameter and the program for execution of reset are stored in a diagnosis buffer in the form of data. Then a reset working is performed by carrying out the above-mentioned program after an execution of a diagnosis command. Thus the initialization can be carried out for an IOC among plural ones connected under the control of channels plus an IOD under the control of the said IOC.
