Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the reliability and to reduce the cost, by providing a changeover switch that automatically changes the governor system to the backup governor system with the output of a fault detector. CONSTITUTION:A fault occurred to a main governor system with some reason is detected by a fault detector 9, and changeover switches 11, 12 and 13 are changed automatically. Thus the main governor system is changed to a backup governor system for the speed regulation of a diesel engine. In this case, no change is caused to the set level of the engine's fuel amount since a coincidence is secured for the output between a PID governor 6a and a PID governor 6b. Thus a changeover is carried out with no change of engine's rotational frequency, and then the speed is regulated by a comparator 3b and the governor 6b. As a coincidence is obtained for the output level between the governors 6a and 6b, no trouble is caused if the constants of both governors are set in a different way.
