Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform heating and cooling efficiently in a short time by using electrodes of heat pipes as heating means applying Joule heat and using the same as quick cooling means after the stoppage of conduction of electricity. CONSTITUTION:The tips 9, 10 in the leading end parts of metallic caps 2, 4 put on one end of metallic heat pipes 1, 3 are used as electrodes 21, 41 of an adhering device for metals applying Joule heat. Objects 11, 12 to be adhered are grasped via a low m.p. metal 13 for adhering between the tips 9 and 10. Here, when electric power is supplied to the electrodes 21, 41 with conductors 5, 6 for electric power source, Joule heat is generated between the electrodes 21 and 41, by which the metal 13 is melted and the objects 11, 12 are adhered. When the electric power source is switched off, the heat of the objects 11, 12 is released quickly by the heat radiation fins 7, 8 provided to the pipes 1, 3, whereby said objects are cooled quickly.
