Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively stop the rotation of a motor with high reliability in a short time without providing a mechanical brake by reversely braking the motor in response to the stop command to regeneratively brake the motor at the abnormally energizing time. CONSTITUTION:When a stop signal is inputted externally, a motor controller 12 switches the energizing sequence of coil LA-LC from LA LB LC LA,... to LA LC LB,..., thereby reversely braking the motor to abruptly brake it. Further, the motor controller 12 detects the timing immediately before the stoppage of the motor by the detection signal from a rotating speed detector 11, thereby releasing the reverse braking at the timing to prevent the reverse rotation of the motor, and the motor is stopped. When the energization is interrupted due to the stoppage of the power, switches SW1-SW4 are switched to set SW1-SW3 to ON and SW4 to OFF, thereby shortcircuiting the coils LA-LC and applying regeneratively braking the motor.
