Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve fuel consumption in a carburetor utilizing an oxygen sensor, by controlling the carburetor to air-fuel ratio in accordance with a vehicle running condition from a load detecdor device, detecting high and low loads, and a control circuit, having two air-fuel ratio control target values. CONSTITUTION:An oxygen sensor 1 is provided with a gentle output characteristic for air-fuel ratiom and a load detector element 2 comprises a high load detector switch 3, light load detector switch 4, edle detector switch 5 and EGR detector switch 6. A control circuit 8 is connected with a buffer amplifier 9, connected with the oxygen sensor 1 to its input side, comparator 10, proportional output circuit 11, the first gate circuit 14, connected with reference voltage sources 12, 13 to its input side, the secont gate circuit 16, connected with output sides of the circuit 11 and OR circuit 15 to its two input sides, and amplifier circuit 17. Further an actuator 18 is connected to the output side of said amplifier circuit 17, and air-fuel ratio is adjusted by jetting and stopping air to a carburetor. This device controls the air-fuel ratio in accordance with a vehicle running state of power operation, moderate acceleration, and constant speed running.
