Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain superior temperature characteristics by obtaining reference voltage by a single current mirror type reference voltage circuit, and using a difference between those reference voltages as the output voltage of a constant voltage circuit. CONSTITUTION:In a single current mirror type reference voltage circuit 3a, a reference voltage VR'G3 is developed at the drain output of an NMOS transistor (TR) 106, and a reference voltage VR'G4 is developed at the drain output of a PMOSTR301. A potential difference VR'G5 between those reference voltages VR'G3 and VR'G4 is nearly proportional to the sum of the threshold voltages of an NMOSTR105 and a PMOSTR302. Variation in threshold voltage depends mainly upon variation in temperature, and both the reference voltages are extracted from a single reference voltage, so their temperature coefficients are nearly equal. Therefore, the difference in reference voltage has excellent temperature characteristics. It is passed through a difference amplifying circuit 3b and a voltage follower circuit 3c to obtain a necessary value, developing a new reference voltage.
