When the tape cassette is fitted to a tape recorder and a cover unlocking member is inserted into slits 33, 34, the sliding cover 18 depresses the center part 47c of a stopping member of a tape reel and the stopping part 50 of the tape reel is unlocked from the lock part of tape reel.
