Abstract
PURPOSE:To analyze optical isomers of chrysanthemumic acid readily and highly accurately, by separating an amide derivative of said acid into antipodes by the gas chromatography using an amide derivative of an asymmetric carboxylic acid as a stationary phase. CONSTITUTION:The analysis is performed by using a compound of formulaI, where R is (halogen substituted) alkenyl; asterisks refer to asymmetric carbon atoms; A is (cyclo) alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, or adamantyl, and no asymmetric carbon is included in an amine component), e.g. an amide derivative of an asummetric carboxylic acid shown by formula II. Namely, alkylamine (e.g. t-butylamine) or cycloalkylamine (e.g. cyclohexylamine) and chrysanthemumic acid are reacted. The obtained amide derivative of chrysanthemumic acid is separated into optical isomers by the gas chromatography wherein said amide derivative of asymmetric carboxylic acid is used as the stationary phase.
