Abstract
PURPOSE:To separate oil efficiently, by constituting an oil separator for a compressor by superposing a plurality of plates formed with many grooves in both surfaces thereof, and passing compressed coolant gas containing fine particles of oil through the oil separator. CONSTITUTION:Compressed coolant gas is collected to a collecting plate 27 via discharge chambers 28a, 28b, 28c and then carried to an oil separator through holes 29. The oil separator is composed of three plates 30a, 30b, 30c which are formed with longitudinal grooves on both surfaces thereof, and spacers are disposed between the three plates. Here, since holes 31a, 31b, 31c for passing gas therethrough are formed respectively in the plates 30a, 30b, 30c at different positions thereof, coolant gas introduced from the holes 29 is made to flow across the longitudinal grooves of the plates 30a, 30b, 30c, so that fine particles of oil are separated while flowing across the longitudinal grooves. Oil thus separated flows downward along the longitudinal grooves and collected at a lower portion in the cover of a compressor.
