Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a unidirectional silicon steel plate of small watt loss and its building factor by hot rolling a silicon steel slab contg. specific amts. of Si and C under specific temp. conditions and specific draft and subjecting the same to cold rolling and annealing. CONSTITUTION:A silicon steel slab contg. 3.1-4.5wt% Si and{0.033[(Si%)- 3.1]+0.030}-0.10wt% C with respect to the content of this Si is hot-rolled. During the course of this hot rolling, the slab is rolled at least at 50% draft since the attainment of the temp. T expressed by the equation up to the final finish temp., whereby a hot-rolled steel strip of about 1.2-5.0mm. thickness is produced. Thereafter it is made into a unidirectional silicon steel plate of about 0.1-0.5mm. thicknesses by >=1 time of cold rolling and annealing. As inhibitor elements, >=1 kind of, for example, S, Se, Mn, Te, Sb, etc. are incorporated in the steel material.
