Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize high reliability driving of a thyristor by a method wherein a capacitor is connected through an inversion amplifier to the primary winding of a transformer provided in its secondary winding with a source of variable impedance. CONSTITUTION:Low impedance connected to the secondary wiring of a transformer 14 causes a low voltage in the primary winding and a high impedance in the inversion amplifier 3 output, as the result of which a capacitor 11 is charged and a three-terminal thyristor 9 is triggered. On the contrary, high impedance connected to the secondary wiring of a transformer 14 causes a high voltage in the primary winding and a low impedance in the inversion amplifier 3 output, as the result of which the capacitor 11 remains uncharged and the three terminal thyristor 9 remains in deenergized state. Accordinagly, the three-terminal thyristor can be controlled by varying the impedance presented by a device connected to the secondary wiring of the transformer 14.
