Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect an abnormally functioning thyristor by a method wherein a forward voltage signal is detected after the passage of a prescribed length of time following the yield of a gate controlling signal. CONSTITUTION:When the normal photosignal (gn) is for some reason (b) or (c) and is received by a thyristor gate, the thyristor voltage (Vtn) is also (b) or (c), reflecting the change. In this case, the forward voltage signal (Fn) outputted by the thyristor is also (b) or (c). The thyristor gate function is checked by the difference between the time point of pulse generator driving signal (PH) input and the time point of signal (Fn) disappearance. That is, after the input of the gate input signal (PH), the forward voltage signals (F1-Fn) at the time point (tdb) of all the serially connected thyristors are memorized and, when all the signals indicate ''0'', there are no abnormalities and, when a signal ''1'' is detected coming out of a thyristor, the thyristor is judged to be in an abnormal state.
