Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain the high gain of a phosphor screen by providing a secondary electron multiplying plate near a photoelectric screen and an electrode group which configures an electrostatic lens system between the phosphor screen and secondary electron muliplying plate. CONSTITUTION:A fiberplate light incident window 12 with a photoelectric screen 11 on its inner surface, a secondary electron multiplying plate 14, a light exit window 16 with a phosphor screen 15 on its inner surface, and an electrode group 13 which configures an electrostatic lens system consisting of Cobal are coaxially spaced at regular intervals and are vacuum-sealed by an enclosure consisting of Cobal and ceramic. A secondary electron multiplying plate 14 is provided near the photoelectric screen 11 and the electrode group 13 is arranged between the secondary electron multiplying plate 14 and phosphor screen 15. In this structure, the output from the exit screen 19 of the secondary electron multiplying plate 14 is focussed on the phosphor screen 15. As a result, the applied voltage on the phosphor screen can be increased arbitrarily along with its gain.
