Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a function as a safety valve for a valve mechanism to be used at low temperatures for sealing liquefied helium, etc., by providing an auxiliary valve body closing or opening an outlet port of the main valve in the inside of the main valve. CONSTITUTION:The main valve body 12 opening or closing the entrance of an inner tank 2 of liquefied helium, etc., is screwed with a shaft 8, and an auxiliary valve body 13 opening or closing the opening 12a of outlet pathway is provided in the inside of the main valve body 12. The valve sheet 13a of the auxiliary valve body 13 is pushed downwards by an elastomer 14 to close the opening 12a during the normally operating period. When anomalous pressure occurs in the inner tank 2, however, the opening 12a is automatically opened by the elastomer 14 and therefore, damage to the valve mechanism can be completely prevented.
