Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a product of consistent quality by quickly heating both edge parts of a hot-rolled material through high frequency induction heating during its finish rolling process and rolling the same at a prescribed uniform temp. CONSTITUTION:After a strip 3 is rolled with rolling rolls 1, it is fed to horizontal pinch rolls 5, 5', and while it is being corrected of the heat for head up or head down, it is fed to collared vertical rolls 6. The strip 3 is then fed into the gaps of high frequency induction heating inductors 7, 7' and both edge parts are heated up to a prescribed temp., thereafter the strip is fed into rolling rolls 2. During this time, the roll speed of the rolls 1, 2 is so controlled that the tension upon the strip between the rolls 1, 2 is made constant. The strip 3 is held approximately linear between the rolls 1, 2 in a longitudinal direction. The edge parts of the strip 3 passing the center of the gaps of the inductors 7, 7' are heated well from the leading end up to the trailing end.
