Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform program search surely even from reversing direction of reproduction, by controlling a switching and restoration to a play operation through the detection of a tail ridge of inter-recording and a tail of a recording via a counter at REVIEW operation. CONSTITUTION:When a switch SW1 is closed, REVIEW mode is obtained via an RS type flip-flop FF2, a monostable multivibrator MM, and an AND gate G8. In this case, when a head 1 is positioned at a recording, a Schmidt trigger circuit generates audio pulses according to an audio signal, NAND gates G1 and G3 are controlled, clearing of a counter 8 is controlled via an FF1, the trailing of recording is detected with an output at a terminal QM through the arrival of a count value of the counter 8 after the passing of the recording, and the output of the FF1 is inverted. When the counter 8 by the count of the audio pulses reaches the 2nd prescribed value, the output at the terminal QM becomes an output of inter-recording tail ridge detection and the mode goes to the play-mode for a prescribed time and restores to the REVIEW mode again.
