CONSTITUTION:Signal S1 from PG signal detecting head 1 has the waveform shaped by Schmitt circuit 2, and monostable multivibrator 7 operated by the rise and the fall of output signal S2 is controlled by signal 7' to obtain delay signal S7. Signals S7 and S2 are applied to gate 8 to obtain signals S81 and S82, and they are given to change-over switch 9 for the long-time recording and reproducing mode and the short-time recording and reproducing mode. Output signals S81 and S82 of switch 9 are delayed in 3 and 4 to obtain signals S3 and S4 respectively, and FF5 is set and reset by signals S3 and S4 to obtain signals S5. The phase of the rotary video head is controlled by signal S5, and simultaneously, the output of the reproducing video head is switched.
