Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the size of an apparatus for recovering heat possessed by waste water discharged from a bathtub and to improve its performance, by sealing a heating medium liquid in a vacuum container in which a water feed pipe is extended through the upper half section while a waste water discharging pipe is extended through the lower half section. CONSTITUTION:A water supply pipe 2 is extended through the upper half section of a vertical heat pipe type container 1 in which is sealed a heating medium liquid 4, while a waste water dischrging pipe 3 connected to a bathtub is extended through the lower half section of the container 1. These two pipes 2, 3 are connected together by means of fins 5. With such an arrangement, when waste water in the bathtub is discharged through the pipe 3, heating medium liquid 4 is evaported and the vapor of the liquid 4 is condensed and releases heat at position near the water supply pipe 2, thus heating water passing through the pipe 2. The condensed heating medium is carried back to the bottom of the container 1 and is evaporated again. By repeating the above process, heat possessed by waste water discharged from the bathtub can be recovered efficiently by feed water passing through the pipe 2.
