Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to start ignition correctly by a method wherein a movable wing is moved in response to the operation of an ignition heater so that the supply of a gas mixture is concentrated on a part of a catalyst coming into contact with the ignition heater only at the time of ignition. CONSTITUTION:In combustion, when a button 11 of an ignition switch 4 is operated to reach an ignition position, an electric current flows through the ignition heater 3 and as soon as the part 2' of the catalyst 2 which is in contact with the ignition heater 3 is heated, the gas mixture is injected from the nozzle 5. In this case, as an operation rod 10 of the ignition switch 4 moves in the A direction, the movable wing 7 moves in the B direction. Consequently, the gas mixture is supplied mainly on the part 2' of the catalyst 2 so that the ignition efficiency of the ignition heater 3 is improved. Further, when the button 11 is set at an ordinary combustion position, the movable wing 7 assumes a position parallel to a combustion cylinder 1 and the gas mixture is supplied uniformly over the whole of the catalyst 2 so that the catalyst 2 burns in its entirety.
