Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an ideal ignition system and the combustion system without voltex flow generation in the sub-chamber and without being damaged by the fire propagation, by means of arranging a heater at the middle part of the inner wall of the sub-chamber, and of disusing the arrangement of a glow plug.
CONSTITUTION: In a case when the engine is allowed to be started in the cold time, the preheating circuit is closed. The current flows to a heating element 1a from the source via a conductive wire 4 and the rod of an electrode, thereby the heater 1 forms an ignitable stomosphere all over the whole inner circumferent surface of a sub-chamber 8 containing the near of the wall surface at which the spray of the combustion reaches from an ejecting nozsle 9. Accordingly, the ignition and the combustion in the sub-chamber 8 is sharply accelerated. And the glow plug does not project in the sub-chamber, thereby the generation of the voltex flow and the propagation of fire in the sub-chamber is never obstructed, and the ignition and combustion is further accelerated.
