Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize a control system for a power source for a flash discharge tube having high stability by exercising control so that a current flowing through the primary side of a transformer in every unit time is constant. CONSTITUTION:An alternating current having a voltage value vin and a current value iin is supplied from an AC power source 6 and rectified by a rectifying circuit 3 to charge a capacitor C2 up to a prescribed voltage. An oscillating circuit 1, on the other hand, flows a pulsating current iQ from the capacitor C2 to the primary side of a transformer T1 through a pulse-width converting circuit 9, etc. Then, a choke current ic flows through the secondary side of the transformer T1 to charge the transformer T1 up. Then, energy transferred from the primary side of the transformer T1 to the secondary side is held constant through an error amplifying circuit 11, etc. Therefore, energy flowing through a rectifying circuit 3, etc., in every unit time is also held constant and the input current iin of the AC primary side is held constant, so that no rush current is generated. Thus, the high-reliability control over the power source is exercised.
