Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve a sealing strength at the end part of the solar heat collecting cylinder in which some heat collecting pipes are arranged in an optically transparent outer pipe having a vacuum therein by a method wherein the end plate for use in closing the outer end part of the cylinder is curved outwardly and an engaging part to be fitted to the end part of the outer pipe is arranged at an outer circumferential edge of the end plate.
CONSTITUTION: Heat collecting cylinder of vacuum pipe is made such that a heat collecting pipe 2 through which some thermal media are passed is inserted into an optically transparent outer pipe 1 made of glass, the end part of the outer pipe is sealed by the sealing end plate 4, and a space between the inner and outer pipes 1, 2 is kept in a vacuum condition. To the heat collecting pipe 2 is press fitted a heat collecting plate 2' having a selective absorption film formed therein, and one end of the heat collecting pipe 2 is supported at a central part of the end plate 4 through an expansion joint 3. In this case, in order to improve a strength of the sealing end plate 4, the side surface 4a of the sealing end plate 4 is curved, and the engaging part 4b to be fitted to an end part of the outer pipe 1 is arranged at an outer circumferential edge of the sealing end plate. Discharge pipe 5 is integrally attached to the curved side surface 4a and projected upwardly in an inclined condition so as to facilitate both an attaching and a cutting operation for the discharge pipe 5.
