Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the linear range of mutual conductance by connecting the corresponding-side collectors of transistors (TR) in a differential couple to a common load resistance, and applying different bias voltages to the other-side bases of the TRs.
CONSTITUTION: Transistors TRs T1 and T2, and T3 and T4 form differential couples. The TRs T2 and T4 use a resistance Ra as a common collector load, and the TRs T1 and T3 use a resistance Rb as a common collector load. The base of the TRs T2 and T4 are connected in common and biased by a voltage Vb2. The bases of the TRs T1 and T3 are independent of each other, and biased by a voltage Vb1 and a voltage Vb1+ΔVb. Consequently, the range of mutual conductance which is considered to be linear is made about three times as wide as that of a single differential couple.
