Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable attachement of another processing means to a coater running along the inside surface of a welded steel pipe, by rotating a spray nozzle with a frame-fixed air motor detachably set to a means running along the inside surface of the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A running means 26 is inserted into a pipe, and its drive wheels 32, 33 are pressed onto the inside surface of the pipe and driven by an air motor 28 to let the running means 26 run along the inside surface of the pipe. When a welded position is detected by a paint film sensor 39, the running means 26 is stopped. At this position, a guide clipper 43 is expanded and fixed, a spray nozzle 17 is rotated by an air motor 8, an fuel inside a tank 4 is atomized under a pressure at the same time, to form a paint film on the inside surface. This operation can be performed, while successively attaching or detaching a cleaner for removal of slag or the like formed by weldin and a means for collection of dust inside the pipe to clean the inside surface, to collect dust from the interior of the pipe and to coat the inside surface in succession. Consequently, groundwork, and coating operation can be conducted with high efficiency.
