Abstract

PURPOSE: To coat a lofty structure with high efficiency without necessity of a scafold, by arranging a coating spray or the like unit at the top end of the boom of a mobile boom-mounted truck, and remote-controlling the unit.
CONSTITUTION: A cleaning unit 4 is settled at the top end of a boom 2 to descale a surface part of a gas holder 17 to be cleaned by the unit 4, and a spray unit 3 is the settled to coat said surface part. Before the start of the operation, the boom 2 is driven and a truck 1 is settled at a desired position, so that a distance between then top end of the cleaning unit 4 and the surface part of the gas holder 17 to be cleaned by the unit 4 is maintained at a predetermined distance with the use of a distance-measuring sensor and a zoom camera 13. Thereafter, the truck 1 is gradually moved, while performing descaling and coating operations. The relation between the moving speed of the truck 1, the elevating speed of the boom 2 and the thickness of a paint film can be automatically controlled by a computer 12.
