Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve fabrication work efficiency and a battery life by binding during production an electrode plate group in which individual electrode plates are separated with a zigzag-shaped separator. CONSTITUTION:An electrode plate group 4 is formed with a separator 3 placed between a positive electrode plate 1 and a negative electrode plate 2, and this electrode plate group 4 is housed in a battery jar to constitute a storage battery. This electrode plate group 4 is formed by bending the separator 3 in zigzag 3A around individual electrode plates 1, 2 so as to separate the electrode plates 1, 2. In this case, the electrode polate group 4 is formed by tieing with a binding string during production, therefore insertion into the battery jar 6 becomes easy.
