Abstract
PURPOSE:To accommodate grain cargo even in the dead spaces of grain carge conveyed through a hatch formed in upper corners of a hold by providing rotatable screw conveyors at the upper sides in the hold beneath an upper deck around the hatch section. CONSTITUTION:Screw conveyors 9 are arranged at the upper corners respectively in a hold 3 beneath an upper deck 1 around a hatch 5. The screw conveyor 9 is installed as rotatable with 7 side of the hatch 5 as a fulcrum. So far, the grain cargo conveyed through the hatch opening 5 has been creating dead spaces without being distributed to the upper corners in the hold based on an angle of repose theta, but by using a screw conveyor free of rotation, the grain cargo can be conveyed even to the dead spaces, and the loading efficiency can be improved. In addition, the grain cargo can be prevented from moving, and the ship can be stabilized.
