Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow the driver to easily select an economic speed, by providing an economic speed display device displaying whether a running condition selected by the driver is economical or not in point of fuel consumption efficiency to the driver. CONSTITUTION:A diesel engine 1 is provided with a detector circuit 2, detecting rotary speed of the engine, detector circuit 4, detecting the rack position of a fuel injection pump 3, detector circuit 5, detecting an ignition timing rotary phase angle of the fuel injection pump 3, and a detector circuit 7, detecting the position of a speed change gear 6. Outputs from the detecting circuits 2, 4, 5, 7 are guided to the input interface of a microcomputer 8, and output from here is fed to a central processing unit (CPU) 10. The CPU 10 performs decision for whether the present running state is of economic speed or not from a memory unit 11 and the present running state, and its result is displayed in a display unit 15.
