Abstract

PURPOSE: To effect an automobile to run under the best conditions of fuel consumption, by inputting a predetermined parameter into a memory so as to indicate a speed changing position in which the fuel consumption is best for running of the automobile.
CONSTITUTION: A memory M is connected to a first detector S1, second detector S2 and third detector S3 respectively, and input each signal from the detectors S1 to S3. The detector S1 is adapted to detect the speed changing position and speed of an automobile, the detector S2 is to detect the revolution of an engine and the detector S3 is to detect the torque or the like of the engine. Meanwhile, memory M is memorized the fuel consumption property of a engine and constructed to select the best speed changing position by means of three signals from the detectors SWS3 as parameters. There is adapted an indicator E for speed changing position connected to the memory, where the best speed changing position selected here is indicated to a driver. Similarly, the best accelerating position may also be indicated at indicator E2.
