Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the interference between adjacent recording tracks, by splitting each recording track into a plurality longitudinally and providing a means which inserts recording tracks split longitudinally to split intervals, in producing parallel magnetic recording tracks to a magnetic substance medium. CONSTITUTION:A head has two parted magnetic gaps like 5, 5'. The length (l) of the interval between the gaps 5 and 5' is taken almost the same as a normal gap length L. The heads having an angle theta with each other in the helical scanning method perform the 1st scanning for the heads with the gaps 5 and 5' and the 2nd scanning for the heads with the gaps 15 and 15', on a magnetic tape 10. The gaps 5 and 5' move to 6, 7... and 6', 7'... respectively as shown in figure. When recording is made with the 1st head having the gaps 5 and 5' and reproduction is made with the 2nd head having the gaps 15 and 15', the vicinity near the response 0 is mitigated and the interference of the adjacent recording tracks like recording tracks 1 and 2 can be reduced through the azimuth system.
