Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a damping effect against vibrations of minute magnitude by a construction wherein one of the two gaps formed between a column and two weights provided on a support for the column is smaller than the other. CONSTITUTION:The first weight 5a is placed on the first coil spring 4a provided on the support 3 fitted to the column 1 to be prevented from vibrating, and the second weight 5b is placed on the second coil spring 4b provided on the weight 5a. The gap G1 between the weight 5a and the column 1 and the gap G2 between the weight 5b and the column 1 are so set that G1>G2 by making the inside diameters of the weights 5a, 5b different from each other. Accordingly, the weight 5a collides against the column 1 at the time of vibrations with large magnitude and the weight 5b collides against the column 1 at the time of vibrations with small magnitude, thereby providing the vibration-damping effect.
