Abstract
PURPOSE: To save one stage as compared to a conventional semicontinuous vacuum heat treatment furnace of 3 chambers and 2 doors and to reduce the production cost of the furnace by constituting said furnace of two chambers, a heating chamber and a cooling chamber, and one intermediate vacuum door segmenting both these chambers.
CONSTITUTION: An inlet door 4 and an outlet door 5 are provided to the front and rear of a furnace, and the front and rear parts of the furnace are formed as a heating chamber 1 and a cooling chamber 2. The chamber 1 and the chamber 2 are segmented by an intermediate vacuum door 3. The chamber 1 is constituted of a heating element 1a and a heat insulating material 1b which are stable in the vacuum and atmosphere of high temp. environments, and a pressurizing device and a pressure reducing device are provided to the chamber 2. Thereupon, the 1st object to be heated is charged in an atm. pressure state into the chamber 1 where it is heated to prescribed temp. under vacuum, thence it is transferred through the door 3 into the chamber 2 in a vacuum state, where it is cooled at prescribed cooling rates. At the same time, the 2nd object to be heated is charged into the chamber 1 in an atm. pressure sate, where it is heated to prescribed temp. under vacuum. Next, the pressure in the chamber 2 is released to the atm. pressure state and the 1st object is carried to the outside of the furnace.
