Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a polyethylene compsn. for rotational molding, which has improved impact resistance, by blending a specified ethylene-α-olefin-diene terpolymer with polyethylene.
CONSTITUTION: 5W50pst.wt. ethyelen-α-olefin-diene terpolymer in which the molar ratio of the ethylene unit to the 3W10C α-olefin unit (ethylene/α-olefin) is 70/30W95/5, 100% modulus at 100% is 0.13kg/mm2 or above and tensile strength is 0.7kg/mm2, 0.1W5pts.wt. crosslinking agent and 0.1W10pts.wt. crosslinking aid, are blended with 100pts.wt. polyethylene. As said crosslinking agent, 2.5-dimethyl- 2.5-di(t-butyl peroxy)hexine-3 is particularly preferred because it has a high decomposition temperature.
