Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. which produces molded articles having excellent heat resistance, flame retardance, mechanical strength and processability, consisting of a silane-grafted PE resin, a chlorinated PE, a halogen-based flame retarder and Sb2O3.
CONSTITUTION: 2W10pts.wt. of at least one silane cpd. (b) selected from a trinormal- or triisopropoxyvinyl silane and a trinormalbutoxyvinylsilane is reacted with 100pts.wt. of a PE resin (a) in the presence of a free-radical generating agent at a temp. of 100W200°C for 1W30min to obtain a silane-grafted PE resin (A). Then 10W50pts.wt. of a chlorinated FPE (B) having a chlorine content of 10W50wt%, 10W70pts.wt. of a halogen-based flame retarder (C) (e.g. hexabromobenzene), 10W70pts.wt. of Sb2O3 (D) and 0W50pts.wt. of another additive (E) (e.g. talc or a stearate) are blended with 100pts.wt. of the above resin (A).
