Abstract
PURPOSE: The title composition having improved mechanical and thermal properties, capable of forming a highly flame-retardant molded article, obtained by adding a specific brominated diphenyl ether, etc. to a polyamide blended with a melamine cyanurate.
CONSTITUTION: A) 100 parts by wt of a polyamide, e.g., polycapramide is blended with B) 4W40 parts by wt., preferably 10W20 parts by wt. of melamine cyanurate and/or its derivative, c) 8W80 parts by wt. of a brominated diphenyl ether shown by the formula [X is H, Br, or alkyl (the number of Br is not less than 6, preferably 10)], D) 0W20 parts by wt. of antimony trioxide, and E) 0W70 parts by wt., preferably 20W40 parts by wt. of an inorganic filler having an aspect ratio of 1:4W 4:1. The blend ratio of C) brominated diphenyl ether to D) antimony trioxide is preferably 1.5W1.3 calculated as a ratio of number of atoms between Br and Sb.
