Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain clear copies having no blade trace, by providing a cleaning member consisting of an elastic blade pressed against a photosensitive drum during recording, and a device which separates said elastic blade from the surface of the photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 1 rotates as shown by the arrow, and an elastic blade 2 is held between the teeth of a blade holder 4, which is fixed to a lever 6. The other end of the lever 6 is connected to a plunger 7 and a spring 8. Then, the elastic blade 2 is moved from the photosensitive drum through turning the lever 6 around a fulcrum 5 by the spring 8. In this case, while the photosensitive drum is still turning after the completion of recording, the elastic blade 2 is separated from the photosensitive drum surface, so that clean copies having no blade trace are obtained.
