Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to eliminate various after works by a method wherein the heat exchanger is housed in a shell made of plastic molding and, after that, foamable heat insulating material is injected into the shell in order to foam-mold the inteior of the shell. CONSTITUTION:After the heat exchanger 1 is housed in a drum 2, a lid 6 is set at the upper part of the drum 2 with putty coated between the both edges 5 and 6a of the drum 2 and of the lid 6 respectively. After that, the edges 5 and 6a are pinched together by means of C clamps 11 from outside. The shell 7 composing of the drum 2 and the lid 6 is set by installing its bottom part in a foaming jig 13. After the setting of the shell, a required amount of foamable heat insulating material with low foaming pressure is injected from an injection port 8 into the shell 7 and a stopper 9 is plugged. The shell 7 stands still in the jig 13 until the foaming process completely comes to end and then taken out of the jig 13, resulting in enabling to eliminate various after works.
