Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily manufacture a heat-insulating panel having any thickness and any strength by a simplified apparatus in which a plate core is provided with a space between a pair of surface plates, and then an expandible substance is stuffed into the space and expanded. CONSTITUTION:A surface plate 1 is set on the lower plate 10 of an expander and heat insulating spacers 2 are placed at proper intervals on the plate 1. Then, a plate core material 3 is set on the spacers 2, the heat insulating spacers 2 are placed on the core material 3, and the surface plate 1 is placed on the spacers 2, a mold 11 and an upper plate 12 are set. And, an expandible substance is injected into the mold 11 from an injection hole 11A provided in the mold 11 and expanded to form a heat-insulating panel. The panel is integrally molded with the expandible substance. Since the panel is given a proper strength by the core material 3 and also the heat of expansion is absorbed in the core material 3, no cavities are produced even in the central part of the panel.
