Abstract

PURPOSE:To set an effective picture area at a maximum while securing separation from a photoreceptor, by equipping a guide part which floats the leading-edge corner part of a transfer material over a photosensitive surface and a hooklike bending member for the leading-edge corner part of the transfer material. CONSTITUTION:A transfer material separator consists mainly of a transfer sheet leading-edge corner bending member having a hook part 64 composed of a guide part and an arc part, and a transfer sheet catching and peeling member like a peeling pawl 36. Then, said bending member bends only a leading-edge corner part of a transfer sheet so as to float it for a photoreceptor surface before transfer processing and the catching and peeling member catches the bent leading-edge corner part and peels the transfer sheet off from a photoreceptor surface after the transfer processing. Therefore, an effective picture area is set at a maximum in comparison with a conventional separator which uses a pick-off belt 9.
