Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize secure separation of transfer paper, by making the thickness of end of separation pawl thin, yet thicker than the transfer paper, and forming the angle θ of the tangent of separation pawl and recording body and the face of separation pawl within 90 to 135 degrees.

CONSTITUTION: The end 23a of separation pawl 23 is connected with a photosensitive drum 9, and the thickness t thereof is made more than 0.1 mm, being larger than the thickness of transfer paper. The angle θ formed by the tangent l at the contact part of the pawl 23 and drum 9 and the end part 23b is set within 90 to 135 degrees. In this case, if the angle θ is smaller than 90 degrees, sparation of transfer paper 5 may be unsure; if larger than 135 degrees, on the other hand, the picture image may be spoiled due to moving along the lower face 23c. When the end of paper 5 abuts against the end 23a of the pawl 23, it stops moving temporarily, so that the paper 5 may be separated from the drum 9. When the deflection reaches a certain size, the end of paper 5 is separated from the pawl 23 to be transferred onto the transfer belt 32. Since the paper 5 does not contact with the pawl 23, the quality of picture image is excellent, and easy and stable sepration action may be attained.
