Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture metallic vapor deposited paper with superior adhesion to the metal and superior luster by forming a layer of rubber contg. carboxyl groups, a polyolefin resin layer and a metallic vapor deposited layer on the surface of paper in order. CONSTITUTION:One side of fine paper is coated with a 40% soln. of rubber contg. carboxyl groups by means of a roll, and it is dried in an oven at 120 deg.C for 60sec. A 10% aqueous soln. of polyvinyl alcohol is added to a 25% aqueous dispersion of self-dispersing polyolefin resin by 1% to the amount of the resin, and the paper is coated with the prepared material by means of a roll and dried in the oven at 120 deg.C for 60sec. The coated paper is put in a vacuum-depositing apparatus to vacuum-deposit Al on the coated and dried surface in about 500Angstrom thickness. Thus, Al vacuum-deposited paper with superior adhesion to the Al and superior Al surface luster is obtd.
