Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain good cleaning effect and deep penetration and to perform welding of high quality with high performance by flowing AC current to electrodes in the case of performing welding by flowing current alternately to the respective electrodes. CONSTITUTION:In a multielectrode welding device, welding electric current is controlled with a transistor 2 for controlling welding current, and the controlled welding current is converted to AC current by switching transistors 3, 4 and 5, 6 for switching alternately. The signals for switching the AC current alternately are generated from a control device 16 to fire thyristors 8, 9, 10, 11, whereby AC waveforms are obtained in an electrode A and an electrode B. In order to generate and sustain the arc stably, high voltage high frequency pulses are generated from the controller 16 in synchronization with the rise of the welding currents of the respective electrodes, and are superposed at all times on the welding current.
