Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the stable laser even at the region of a small amount of the laser output by supplying previously the current to each electrode in an amount with which the glow discharge can be stabilized and then controlling the number of the electrode which performs the glow discharge. CONSTITUTION:The 1st electrode device such as flat-panel type anode 1 and the 2nd electrode device such as bar-type electrodes 2a-2n are connected to DC power source 11 featuring nearly a constant amount of output voltage via current control unit 13 consisting of current control resistances 5a-5n plus switching transistors 12a-12n. With open/close of transistors 12a-12n, the discharge current is controlled according to the number of the conducting transistors, also the laser output being controlled. As a result, the stabilized laser can be obtained even at the region featuring a small amount of the laser output.
