Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a mold that has self-curing property at room temperature and is excellent in collapsing property of mold after casting and in utilization rate of recorditioned sand by using a mixture of a polymerization promotor composed of amine and amine activator and esters as a binder for refractory particle aggregate in forming the mold.
CONSTITUTION: A mold or a core for casting is formed by mixing particles of refractory aggregate such as silica sand, zircon sand, etc. and a binder. The mold or core is formed by mixing refractory aggregate and a binder made up of a polymerization promotor composed of tertiary amine such as dialkylallyl amine, etc. and an amine activator such as cobalt soap, carboxylic acid etc. and an ester such as acrylic acid ester, methacrylic acid ester, etc. In this case, 0.8W3% ester to aggregate, 0.5W10% amine to ester, 0.5W15% cobalt soap to ester and 0.5W10% carboxylic acid to ester are added. Formed mold or core is self-curing and excellent in recovery rate of reconditioned sand and collapsing property of the mold after casting.
