Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve operability in comparison with that of conventional potential sensors and to lessen the number of components by arranging a tuning fork in such a manner that the tip of the arm thereof traverses an electric flux line and by making the detected potential delivered from this arm. CONSTITUTION:The tip of the tuning fork is arranged at the back of a detection hole 8 provided at a case 4, and one of two arms stuck to the base part 12 of the tuning fork which is an insulator serves also as a detecting electrode. Meanwhile, to the other arm 2, a piezoelectric ceramics 3 is bonded for driving the tuning fork. When the tuning fork vibrates, the part at the tip of the tuning fork which covers the detection hole is changed and the amount of the electric flux line received by the tip part 11 of the arm 10 fluctuates cyclically in accordance with the frequency of the tuning fork, whereby an AC signal proportional to potential is generated at the arm 10. This constitution makes it unnecessary to provide a chopper part and an electrode part separately and, only with consideration to the positional precision of the detection hole and the tip of the arm, the non-uniformity of the sensor can be reduced.
