Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently treat noxious dust contained in waste gas so that it becomes innoxious, by arresting dust from the waste gas generated by a melting furnace, by the use of a dust collector, throwing collected dust ashes into molten slag produced in the melting furnace, and after that, solidifying it by a solidifying device.
CONSTITUTION: A substance to be treated 1 is thrown into a melting furnace 3 through a throw-in port 2 and is melted, but a part of a metal contained in the substance to be treated volatilizes and scatters, and it is discharged together with waste gas through an outlet 14. This waste gas is led to a dust collector 4 through an waste gas passage 11, and dust contained in waste gas is collected. This collected dust is thrown into a solidifying device 8 together with molten slag taken out from a take-out port 10, and is solidified. As for solidified slag 9, its volume is decreased in a state that a noxious substance has been enclosed, and said slag is disposed as it is. Dust, etc. generated by the solidifying device 8 are absorbed by a dust collecting hood 7 and are collected together with dust contained in exhaust gas, by the dust collector 4.
