Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to shorten the overall length of a rocket by placing a gas generator in a secondary combustion chamber, in a ram rocket in which a combustible gas generated by the combustion of a solid propellant loaded in a gas generator is fed into a secondary combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:The ram rocket 1 is accelerated by the combustion of the solid propellant for a booster loaded in the secondary combustion chamber 4, and flies at a velocity such as to attain a ram pressure. When the combustion is completed, the solid propellant 5 starts to be burned from its end face, whereby the hot combustible gas is generated in the gas generator 15. The combustible gas is jetted into the second combustion chamber 4 through a jetting port 2, is burned by mixing violently with compressed air fed through a diffuser 6 and is jetted out. At this moment, fuel liners 8, 20 generate fuel gases through abrasion, and the fuel gases are burned simultaneously with said combustible gas. In addition, the gas generator 15 is heated from outside so that the combustible gas is easily generated and the pressure in the secondary combustion chamber 4 is maintained at a predetermined value, providing a stable force for flying.
