Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform a stable combustion with a spontaneous ignition without using an igniter and flame keeper for a ram rocket, by forming a gas injection port opened almost in perpendicular to an axial line of the ram rocket in a partition that separate primary and secondary combustion chambers of the ram rocket.
CONSTITUTION: A launcher motor not shown in the drawing is mounted to a ram rocket 1 at its rear end and the rocket is accelerated to its necessary flying speed by said motor. And then the lanucher motor is separated to allow the ram rocket 1 to fly in the following manner. That is, gas generating agent 2 is primarily burnt gradually from its end face in a primary combustion chamber 6 to produce inflammable gas at high temperature contg. a large amount of CO, HC and H2 and fill the primary combustion chamber 6 to high pressure. Said inflammable gas is jetted from an injection port 9 into a secondary combustion chamber 7 in the direction almost in perpendicular to an axial line L and diffused in a diffusion area 12. Then it is mixed and fired with air from an air inlet port 11, burnt by passing through a pilot fire keeping area 13 and combustion area 14 and jetted from a nozzle 3.
